My sweet boy: you are officially not a baby anymore, and while I am wondering how you changed so quickly, I am also excited about all that you are doing and saying right now. I look back at your baby pictures and hardly recognize the fat roly poly kid I see!
Today you are two years old, and I have been pausing for moments of thankfulness more and more these days for you and our time together. With your sister on the way, I am cherishing this time that is just me and my lil buddy!
Your speech has recently exploded, and you are talking so much and repeating everything you hear! You still struggle with the hard letters like C, K, F, R, etc. but you have a pretty good grasp on a lot of words and letters. Every day I am amazed at what you learn and remember.
You know all of your colors, a ton of animals, a few of your letters and a few of your numbers. You love sports balls, puzzles, cars/boats/trucks/tractors, and especially books! You love to read, and we read a lot together. You are also obsessed with Elmo! We have only watched Sesame Street a handfull of times, but everytime, you spend the whole show asking for Elmo’s World to come on (which is the last 20 minutes of the show!)
You are a great eater! You seem to be willing to try everything, and I am amazed at what you like – jambalaya, Mexican food, gyros…you have your daddy’s taste I think! You aren’t as thrilled with the typical “staples” like mac and cheese or grilled cheese but seem to prefer more flavorful dishes. And you LOVE ice cream! You woke up today asking for ice cream because we promised you we would get some on your birthday :)
You are extremely laidback and well-behaved, and you are a great sharer. You want everyone to have a turn during an activity, and you act confused when other kids try to take the toy you are playing with! You have never taken another child’s toy that I have seen…I hope that lasts for a while :)
We love you so much Connor William, and we are proud to have you as our son! Happy birthday!!
