Today, September 13, my sweet baby boy turned 1.

We had an amazing party for him on Saturday, which I will blog about later. It was a wonderful celebration with almost our entire family in attendance.
And today was a great day as well. Connor and I went on a tour of the fire station this morning with my MOMS Club, which he loved! He got to ride up in the truck and touch one of the helmets – he thought it was all very cool. And then when Evan got off work, we got Connor his first McDonald’s happy meal :) and went to have a picnic at Rotary Park and play on the playground. All in all, a fantastic 1st birthday!
Connor is changing and learning so much each day, it’s SO fun to see. His growth rate is starting to slow a lot now that he’s crawling and cruising everywhere, but he’s still got some of the chubbiness left in those cheeks thankfully :) He is SO close to walking, but so far still because he refuses to try by himself, even though I know he could easily do it. He is so steady on his feet and loves to push things around. He is earning the nickname “Cautious Connor” from our friends :)
He just learned to clap and give kisses. It’s the sweetest thing ever when I turn to him and say “Can I have a kiss?” and he turns toward me and opens his mouth! I have no idea how he learned that, he just did it one day out of the blue.
He is becoming more and more obsessed with big people food and seems to only want to eat what we’re eating! His favorite things to eat are spaghetti, pizza, cheeseburgers and fruits. He’s also been given ice cream on a couple of occasions and is a huge fan!
He likes to jabber when there is only a few people around but gets shy and quiet around strangers. His favorite word is Mom :) (of course!!) He is definitely a mama’s boy, but I’m not complaining! He’s my little buddy and we do everything together.
Sometimes I get so overwhelmed at the awesome responsibility of parenthood – the fact that I’ve not only created this life and put him on this earth, but also that I am influencing, molding and shaping his entire lifetime. It’s just amazing, and I feel so blessed to be Connor’s mom.
Happy First Birthday to my beautiful boy – I love you more than anything in the world!!
